Massi is a quaint and cosy little restaurant located on Little Collins Street.
We were shown our table and our coats were kindly taken and hung up for us on the coat rack located in the entrance.
After sitting down, we were asked what we would like to drink but was unsure what to choose so Jade our waitress suggested that she can bring out whatever wines matched to the dishes that we were going to have during the night. We thought that was a fantastic idea so we told her that would be lovely.
We had a White wine with our starters of Sourdough with olive oil, Nduja (4 slices sourdough, 2 fried peppers) with smooth spicy spreadable salami and Arancini (2) The sourdough with olive oil was a lovely way to start our dinner courses. It was then followed by Nduja which was so nice and the spreadable salami was delicious on the sourdough. The Arancini was very tasty and lovely with the flavours of mushrooms.
We had a Red wine (Italian pinot noir) with the next dish of Kingfish Sashimi (w/rice paper). It was soft and had delicious delicate flavours. A dish with lovely textures.
The Pumpkin + Ricotta ravioli (chestnut + mushroom fondue + crispy cavalo nero…V) was a lovely pasta dish. The Ravioli just melted in our mouths. Perfectly cooked and contained a delicious filling. Such an enjoyable dish. We used our starter bread to soak up the remaining sauce.
We were then served a Red wine (cab sav from McLaren Vale) to enjoy with the Crumbed Flinders Island lamb cutlets, braised shoulder, roasted Jerusalem artichoke and salad. The shoulder was so so tender.
The Desert wine (Muscato) was perfectly paired with our dessert of the White chocolate pannacotta. The pannacotta was lovely and smooth. Nice flavours to finish off the experience.
We had a wonderful dining experience. Massi has a lovely atmosphere with good background music.
On the night we visited we had wonderful service by the lovely waitress Jade.
We thank Massi for having us. We experienced Massi as guests, and all of our opinions are genuine and are based on our experience at the time of our visit.
