Now I know Easter is over, and we have probably eaten so many Easter eggs that we are just sick of chocolate. But if you do have some Easter eggs left over and don’t know what to do with them, you can make this yummy, irresistible Easter Bark.
Since it contains lots of delicious Easter eggs, I couldn’t think what to call the bark. Easter is over, and all I could think of was Easter Bark. Maybe it could be called Surprise Bark since it has popping candy eggs in it? Loaded Bark as there are loads of chocolate in it?
It’s nearly Easter time, and I think I have indulged in copious amounts of chocolate already. I just can’t go past those aisles of Easter eggs and not pick up a couple of bags. The mini eggs are soo easy to eat, just unwrap and the chocolate goodness is there. My favourites at the moment are the popping candy eggs, mmm it’s a party in your mouth egg! Oh, let me not forget the mini eggs that have no wrapping. I could eat a truck load of M&M’s speckled eggs, Milky bar mini eggs and Reeses Pieces Peanut Butter eggs.
Now since the Easter eggs have started appearing in the supermarket, I have come home with a few packets of something different each week. My kitchen cupboard is getting full of some amazing eggs. I am looking forward to using these eggs to do some Easter baking.
When I stumbled upon a packet of the Reeses Pieces Peanut Butter eggs and Reeses Peanut Butter Mini Reester Bunnies, I knew that I had to bake something with these.
I went and filled up the car with petrol the other day. As you walk in and head over to the checkout to pay, they always have some deal going on whether it be packets of chips, drinks or chocolate. This time they had a deal with Mars Bars, buy 2 get 2 free. I saw these and immediately thought I need to make something with Mars Bars in it.
The chocolate bars sat on the kitchen bench for a couple of days until I decided on what to do with them.
Did you know that today is World Nutella Day! I had heard about it but didn’t know when the actual day was. If my kids found out this morning, then I would have had to make something with Nutella in it. I don’t have time on a school morning to do any baking so I might have to surprise them and make a yummy baked treat today.
Hey everyone!
Do you remember from yesterday in my Well Naturally post I said that I would be sharing with you today a yummy recipe? Well, along with the Well Naturally No Sugar Added chocolate family blocks that we got to taste test, there was a packet of No Sugar Added Dark Chocolate Melts.
And there was a little leaflet with some very yummy recipes.
What recipe should I choose? Hmmm??
ROCKY ROAD!! Delicious chocolatey, nutty, marshmallowy rocky road!
Place chocolate melts in a microwave safe bowl
Melt on 50% power in 30 second bursts
I weighed all of my ingredients:
45 gms of marshmallows
50 gms dried cranberries
50 gms macadamias
All the ingredients ready to be covered in delicious dark chocolate
Place them all in to the chocolate
And stir until they are all covered and ready to put in the baking tin (not shown)
All ready to eat, yummy Rocky Road
I love using dark chocolate for making rocky road. And now having found the Well Naturally No Sugar Added Dark Chocolate melts that means I can make rocky road more often and eat loads more! I like knowing that in some of the baking that I do there is less sugar in the ingredients. I try to reduce the sugar content in most of my recipes when I can. I think it is better for you and better for the kids.
Now I know there is another recipe that I can use these yummy Well Naturally No Sugar Added Dark Chocolate melts. My Cranberry Cashew Clusters! The melts will be perfect for these choccie treats.
What is your favourite recipe that uses chocolate melts?

Mmmm, chocolate! I love chocolate.
Well, our whole family loves chocolate. Our cupboard always has a handful of chocolate in it somewhere.
We don’t eat too much though as don’t forget it’s better for you in moderation. So you can imagine I was very excited when I was asked to do a product talk on Well Naturally No Sugar Added chocolate. I went YAY!! Chocolate, we love and with no added sugar even better, right!
The Well Naturally No Sugar Added range is made without any added sugar. There are no artificial sweeteners or “secret sugars” like agave syrup or fruit concentrates. Instead, they use Stevia to sweeten their products. Stevia is a natural, plant-based sweetener that is around 300 times sweeter than sugar. Stevia has no calories and no impact on blood sugar levels.
We received our lovely bag of goodies and couldn’t wait to get stuck into it all.
I rallied around all of my taste testers and sat them down at the table to try a piece from each block of chocolate. I was wondering how we would go eating a chocolate with no added sugar in it, but the kids were all ready to give it a go.
So after everyone indulged, here is the verdict:
Milk Chocolate fruit and nut: everyone loved! Nice amount of fruit and nuts and a nice creamy taste.
Milk Chocolate creamy milk: the 6, 9 and 11 yr old enjoyed eating this. The 16 yr old didn’t enjoy it as much as the fruit and nut. Hubby and I weren’t too keen on it either. It was still a creamy chocolate but not a favourite.
Dark Chocolate acai: the 6 yr old didn’t like this as she doesn’t like dark chocolate as much as milk. The 9 and 11 yr old enjoyed this and said it was very nice. Hubby wasn’t too keen on it either. I loved it. I could have eaten the whole block. I love dark chocolate. It was nice and smooth. A great dark chocolate.
Dark Chocolate mint crisp: I didn’t try this one as I am not much of a mint fan. Everyone else enjoyed it though and said that it was nice and minty.
Dark Chocolate rich dark: The kids didn’t like this one as much as the others. I think they like dark chocolate when it has something in it such as the bits of mint crisp! Hubby and I liked this chocolate. It was nice and smooth. There was no after-taste left in your mouth that I know some dark chocolates can leave a residue.
After eating and trying the Well Naturally No Sugar Added Chocolate range, we were all quite surprised that it was still a great tasting chocolate. It’s nice to know that you can still enjoy a yummy chocolate snack without all of that added sugar.
