Can you believe that I have not made a Pavlova before? Over all the years that I have been baking, I have never attempted to make a Pav! I don’t know why I haven’t. Maybe I thought that it would be too difficult, or I would make it wrong, and it wouldn’t turn out. Well, I decided to have a go on the weekend and see what would happen if I made a Chocolate Mint Pavlova.

Well, that was my blogging challenge for the Food For Families appeal. This week I had to come up with a recipe using only non-perishable food items.
Everyone knows that Christmas is an exciting time for many families, but for others, it can be a difficult time with some not being able to put food on the table. That’s why for the last 23 Christmases, Wesley Mission Victoria’s Food For Families appeal has been collecting non-perishable food donations for families in need.
Our shopping trolley most weeks include tubs of yogurt whether it be a pack of 4 small tubs or a 1kg tub, and depending on if the yogurt is on special. Sometimes the kids delve into the tubs and eat it all up, and there are times when it just doesn’t get touched. When that happens, I don’t buy any yogurt for ages.
Did you know that for the month of July, America celebrates National Ice Cream month? It is celebrated each year in July and on the third Sunday of July, it is National Ice Cream Day!
We still have a couple of weeks left to join in with their wonderful celebration for Ice Cream. I know that us Melbournians have been braving the cold weather lately, but we can always indulge in a couple of scoops of homemade Ice Cream, couldn’t we?!
